Huaqi’s PIS shines in Mexico

On February 27^th, local time in Mexico, Mexico's Monterrey Metro Line 3 opened. It was the first time that China’s rail transit equipment had been used in Mexico.

Arturo Herrera, Minister of Finance of Mexico, and Jaime Rodriguez, Governor of Nuevo Leon, cut the ribbon together at the opening ceremony of Monterrey Metro Line 3. Jaime Rodriguez said that this day is a historic day, the opening of Line 3 means that Nuevo Leon has made great progress in transportation, and this new product could provide over 116,000 people with fast and comfortable travel service.

The Monterrey Metro Line 3 is 7.5 kilometers long and has 8 stations. It connects the Hospital Metropolitano Station in San Nicolás de los Garz and General I. Zaragoza Station in downtown Monterrey. It is connected to Line 1 at Felix U. Gomez Station and to Line 2 at General I. Zaragoza Station. Meanwhile, it is connected to the bus transportation system at the Ruiz Cortines Station. The designed speed of the train is 80km/h. The train marshalling is flexible, and 2, 3 or 4 compartments can be connected according to the he passenger flow. It adopts articulated large axle load bogie with a minimum turning radius of 25m. It is equipped with fully automatic coupling, which can be connected to the original compartment and used on Line 1 and 2 as well. The automatic carpling can help customers improve operational efficiency and reduce procurement costs because it can adapt to all the 3 metro lines in Monterrey.

After receiving the task, Huaqi Intelligent has overcome many difficulties in a very short time. They worked overtime to complete the product design, verification and delivery in a timely manner in accordance with the customer's overseas project standards.

Mexico Metro adopts flexible marshalling technology. Usually there are 2 compartments in a single row. When there is a large passenger flow, 2, 3 or 4 compartments can be connected for operation. The on-board PIS supports automatic detection of compartment connection status, judging whether to connect to the front or the rear of the train and judging the number of connections, etc. In addition, the on-board PIS supports broadcast and surveillance camera of each connected compartment work normally under the status of connection, which is convenient for the operation of the driver. Arbitrary marshalling and connection of compartments is a highlight of this PIS design.

Huaqi made its debut in the Mexican market with the opening of Monterrey Metro Line 3.
